The ETRA Group was established in 1979 as an umbrella linking companies spread out throughout Spain. These companies are devoted to the installation and maintenance of Traffic systems, with the objective of developing their own technologies in their specific traffic sectors, later leading to their introduction into general Public Transport areas.

In terms of their services areas (traffic control, public lighting and transport, roads intelligent signalisation…) the ETRA Group is supported by its own technology and an important contribution of the I+D Group that helps to move them closer to their clients, enabling them to attend to their needs and offer a permanent service.

The ETRA Group counts with professional staff that has a wide experience in engineering, electronics, computers and control systems applied to the road security, checking and exploitation of the transports and the integral management of the public lighting. They are ready to carry out personal projects and offering services of R+D, execution and maintenance.

The year 1995 meant a forward step for the ETRA Group´s future, when it became leader in the traffic sector, keeping this position nowadays. In the year 1997, the ETRA Group started to offer its technology and solutions to exterior markets. From then our international department has represented to the ETRA Group in the global market, getting to export Spanish technology.

One of the most important characteristics of the ETRA Group is its technological potential. ETRA disposes of own technology developed for one of its companies, ETRA Research and Development S.A. (ETRA I+D), that gives support to the different installations: Control Rooms, Intelligent Communications Networks, street equipment, etc…

The High quality of ETRA products, adapted to the clients needs, makes it possible that our products are installed in many cities, including big capital cities. With the aim of offering solutions to our client needs, the ETRA Group offers the service of Integral Maintenance of its Systems and Installations, doing "easy the difficult". In this way the service of Exploitation and Operation of the Control Systems adds value to our installations that allows them to grow and evolve at the same rhythm that the technological innovations.
